London-based mobile solutions integrator Infinite Solutions first Indian customer, Oxigen Services India, has launched Bugzy, which it claims is the worlds first pre-paid mobile content service. Users can seamlessly access content, games and applications using any available access technology (mobile phone or PC) using a common Value Added Service (VAS) card.
Bugzy is a pre-paid service for mobile content, applications and web-based mobile content that is independent and available to an end users on the operator of their choice, opening up a new dynamic channel for VAS users in India.
Bugzys recharge is available on the Oxigen Network that has over 35,000 customer touchpoints across India. Subscribers buy a Bugzy starter kit and open a wallet from which they are then free to access the content – from checking e-mail to downloading music, watching fashion videos, games and other material on the web and the mobile phone simultaneously. Users are not charged for airtime or other operator platform related charges, only for content downloaded.
In addition to the entertainment-based content, Bugzy also includes an email service for a nominal charge. Customers can use BugzMail to access popular email services such as GMail, HotMail, Yahoo, and their corporate email account.
The Mobile Instant Messaging (IM) solution, branded as BugzChat, allows users to hold several simultaneous chats with other instant messaging services such as MSN or Yahoo messenger.
Bugzy is the first pre-paid service for mobile content downloads in India and as such will mean that users will never have to worry about spiralling download charges says Oxigen Services Founder and Chairman, Pramod Saxena. All pricing is transparent, and each user knows in advance the download charge for the service they are about to use. We are confident that we will see a dramatic increase in the number of people accessing content on their mobiles with the launch of this service We have made accessing content fast, accessible and affordable across the operators in the Indian marketplace.
ISLs CEO Duncan Ward adds:
Bugzy is a great example of how content tailored for the mobile handset, priced affordably and with the right technology platform can exponentially grow the value added services market. Users in India currently have limited availability of rich media content on mobile devices, but Bugzy will change this overnight. We have worked together with Oxigen and MMS to bring forth a great service with some fantastic content for the Indian marketplace.
