InnoPath Rolls Out ActiveCare to the Blackberry

InnoPath Software, which specialises in over-the-air customer care, has announced ActiveCare for BlackBerry devices across both GSM and CDMA operators. ActiveCare creates a real-time over-the-air ActiveLink, increasing both First Call Resolution and customer satisfaction.
With the rise of the Smartphone, peril and risk come with convenience and opportunity, notes InnoPath.  BlackBerry apps including Bank of America, PayPal and Documents to Go, while illustrating the power of the Smartphone, also highlight the risk a lost or stolen device could represent through compromised bank accounts or identity theft, not to mention the loss of sensitive business information. While as a subscriber, you can set a strong password on your phone, many, if not most users, fail to do so. With ActiveCare for the BlackBerry, phones can be remotely locked and wiped by the operator, helping mitigate the risk associated with a lost or stolen phone.
The addition of coverage for RIM means that InnoPaths ActiveCare is now available for the vast majority of Smartphones worldwide, including Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and soon, the iPhone.
With this mass-market growth where the Smartphone replaces the laptop, theres both personal and business data on your phone that you dont want on the Internet, or even worse, falling into devious hands, says David Ginsburg, Vice President of Marketing for InnoPath. By adding lock and wipe capabilities, we ensure that a lost device is more of an inconvenience rather than a life-changing event or a scandal for an entire company.
Recently The Economists EIU conducted a survey sponsored by InnoPath, The Mobile Data Challenge, which explored the impact that the rise of data-centric Smartphones will have on service providers. With only 44% of respondents feeling that growth in data will make up for a decline in voice revenue, the pressure is on to find greater efficiency. With customer support being one of the biggest expenses an operator has beyond running the network, any technology that allows not only better but also more efficient customer support will be of considerable interest, says Innopath. The survey results are available free of charge, here.
