Instagram, much like its parent company Facebook, has finally decided to organise comments into threads to make conversations easier to follow – a long running problem on the photo-sharing app.
The changes mean that when a user hits reply to a specific comment, their response will be grouped underneath that comment in a thread, so anybody casting an eye over the comments section knows who’s taking to who. All-in-all, the change should ease the experience of checking out the comments on pictures.
“Comment threads help you keep track of conversations and make it easy to respond to a specific thread,” said the Instagram team in a blog post. “This update will make your feed an even better place to share interests, get inspired and connect with others.”
The update to the comments section will be available ‘in the coming weeks’, as part of Instagram version 24 and above, on both the App Store and Play Store.
