iOS has maintained its top spot in the UK with a 45.7 per cent share of impressions on InMobis mobile ad network, according to its quarterly Mobile Insights report?. Despite falling by 2.7 share points over the course of Q1, 2012, Apple holds a strong lead on Android, rising 4 points to 26.1 per cent – and accounting for the top three devices. The iPhone has a 26.7 per cent share of impressions, followed by the iPad and iPod, with the devices together making up 46 per cent of total impressions.
“This is our first Mobile Insights report in the UK this year, and we have seen a strong increase of the mobile web, which holds a 78 per cent share of total advertising impressions, a 20 per cent increase from Q4, 2011,” Lee Blyth, head of UK sales at InMobi. “The InMobi network is serving 9.5bn impressions, demonstrating that the reach offered by mobile devices to local, regional and global brands is continuing to grow.”
