Apple has confirmed that it will take the wraps off iOS5, the next version of its mobile operating system that powers the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, at next week’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.
The latest version of the software will be revealed to the world in a keynote address given by Apple CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives on Monday, 6 June, at 10am local time. Apple will also use the event to present iCloud, its upcoming cloud services offering, and Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS X.
WWDC will feature more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers. Mobile developers can explore the latest innovations and capabilities of iOS and learn how to enhance the functionality, performance and design of their apps. All developers can bring their code to the labs and work with Apple engineers.
