Well we did try to have a day off, but we couldnt resist bringing you the news that sales of the iPad have topped 2m in less than 60 days since its US launch on 3 April.
Apple began shipping the device in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland last Friday. The iPad will be available in nine more countries in July, with more countries to follow later this year.
“Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do,” says Apple CEO, Steve Jobs. “We appreciate their patience, and are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”
The iPad app count currently stands at 5,000. In addition, the device can also run almost all of the 200,000+ apps on the App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch.
