US mobile wallet project Isis has been delayed for the second time this year.
A joint venture between US operators Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, the service was originally due out in the first half of 2012. It was tipped for a September launch as recently as two weeks ago, but has been pushed back until October, according to Reuters.
That launch will pilot in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas, before expanding across the US in 2013.
The delay is another hit for NFC, which the mobile wallet will use for payments, following Apples iPhone 5 announcement last week, which confirmed the handset wont feature NFC technology.
