itsmy, one of the first social networks for mobile phones, says that from now on, it plans to use its proprietary mobile platform and social community skills to develop sticky, casual multiplayer games for mobile customers of all social networks, with a focus on touchscreen devices.
“There is a huge interest from users and social networks for games that can be played across all social networks with all mobile devices and phones via the integrated mobile internet browser,” says itsmy CTO, Jukka Saarelainen. “Contrary to the online social area, with games for all age and interest groups, the market for mobile web games is still in its very early days.”
Itsmy has developed more than 50 free-to-play mobile social games over the past 12 months. These have been successfully launched in markets including the UK, US, Spain, Italy and Germany via the company’s own mobile social network at: http://m.itsmy.com. This will be re-launched as a pure and open mobile web gaming network next month.
“We’ve seen that more than 97 per cent of all users on itsmy play games just for fun with their friends, and a good portion of them spend money for virtual goods and shortcuts,” says itsmy CEO, Antonio Vince Staybl. “Given these facts, we decided that games will be the future for us. The enthusiasm of our users shows that it is a must to give people from all worldwide social networks the chance to play our sticky, easy-to-play mobile web games.”
