Japans Fujitsu Targets EUs Silver Smartphone Market

Fujitsu smartphones are coming to Europe, starting with the Stylistic S01, which is launching on Orange in France this June for people who feel ‘intimidated by complex smartphones’.

The 4″ touchscreen Android phone is aimed at the growing senior market and includes technology tailored to older people, including tactile feedback, larger screen icons and phonecall volume optimisation.

The company started making handsets in 2001 but this is the first time Fujitsu has launched a smartphone outside of Japan. The company has already sold 20m Raku-Raku phones for seniors in its home country.

Fujitsu had revenues of $54bn for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2012.
