Kim Kardashian: Hollywood App Earns $43.4m in Q3

kim kardashian hollywoodSmartphone game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood has earned over $43m (£27m) in a single quarter, despite being free to download and play.

The game, which was produced by game developer Glu Mobile following a deal with reality star Kim Kardashian-West, uses a freemium model where players can make in-app purchases in order to make advances in the game.

The app has been downloaded 22.8m times since its release in June, and players have logged in a collective 5.7bn minutes (or over a century) of gameplay. According to Glus Q3 financial report, the game earned more than companys ten next-best-selling games combined.

While the games popularity has waned slightly since its release, it remains in the top 40 games for both Android and iOS, and Glu has extended its license agreement with Kardashian-West for another three years.
