La Redoute Opens the Doors of 11 Virtual Shops in France

Fashion retailer La Redoute is opening virtual shops in ten French towns, including Lyon, Toulouse, and Paris. By using the Street Shopping Augmented Reality app, developed by the Relatia agency, in each of the shops, users can see a range of products overlaid onto their location, which can be clicked to lead to that products page on La Redoutes mobile site.

The brand is also launching an AR treasure hunt which uses geolocation technology to place prizes in hidden locations across 56 cities in France which can be found using the app.

“With Augmented Reality, La Redoute offers you the chance to discover its Autumn/Winter collection for 2012 in a new environment, in the streets of ten towns,” says La Redoutes head of mobile commerce and social media Nicolas Pérignon. “It is a totally new, exclusive and fun experience for our customers and fans, but also, of course, a real bonus for the brand.”
