LBi Hands Head of Mobile Role to Elia

Europe’s largest digital marketing and technology agency, LBi, has appointed Ilicco Elia as head of mobile.

Elia joins LBi from Thomson Reuters, bringing over two decades of experience in developing and implementing mobile technology innovations across large corporate organisations. LBi says his appointment reflects the maturity of mobile and its importance to the agency and its clients.

Prior to joining LBi, Elia spent 20 years at global news agency Reuters, where he most recently held the position of global head of mobile. During this time he was responsible for numerous international mobile innovations which helped change the way in which consumers receive mobile multimedia news.

He also worked closely with journalists and bloggers, introducing new mobile and social media techniques in the field to support the news gathering process. His understanding of how emerging mobile technologies and platforms such as apps and tablets led him to develop pioneering services including Thomson Reuters News Pro applications, and Reuters Galleries.

“It has been an incredibly difficult and time intensive process to find the right individual for this role,” says LBi London CEO, Anil Pillai. “Ilicco is a person who is deeply embedded in the mobile world, bringing vast experience of mobile media, mobile web and the app store environments from launching a number of pioneering mobile services to a global audience. He has a strong awareness of what will drive the next generation of innovation in mobile, and I’m excited about having him work with our partners to deliver mobile services and solutions to clients.”
