LG Launches Local Promos

Handset-maker LG is undertaking a promotional campaign for the festive season, with localised promotions tailored to the desires of consumers in different countries. The concept behind the project is for LG to communicate with consumers at a local level, understand whats important to them this Christmas time and then apply the findings to relevant festive promotions in each marketplace.
Consumers are being invited to take part in an online survey and reveal their ultimate Christmas be it their dream destination, perfect gift, or favourite holiday song. On receipt of the results, LG then plans to run pre-Christmas promotions matched to the Christmas wishes of the local market. 
This is the first time that LG has run a global scale research campaign of this nature, with the online survey being conducted in unison across six countries UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Brazil.   
LGs objective is to implement a campaign with high local relevancy, involving the local consumers from the beginning of the project. The company plans to adopt the approach for future campaigns if the pilot proves successful. 
Research participants in each country are being entered into a prize draw to win LG mobile phones including the LG Secret, the 8-megapixel LG Renoir cameraphone and the just-released LG Cookie.
Results of the research, which is being carried out by research company 72 Point, together with details of subsequent festive promotions, will be revealed at the end of November.
