LG has revealed the latest addition to its smart watch range, the LG Watch Urbane, an all metal design that the company is positioning as a rival to the upcoming Apple Watch.
The new design more closely resembles a luxury timepiece, with a circular display, gold or silver frame and natural leather strap, and aims to capture a wider audience than the current G Watch range by LG has.
The Urbane includes a PPG sensor that can measure a wearer's heart rate and average pulse during exercise, as well as 9-axis location sensor and barometer, Always-on ambient mode and runs on Android Wear.
"The LG Watch Urbane's classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G Watch and G Watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications. "LG Watch Urbane is an important part of our strategy to develop wearable devices that are worn and viewed as everyday accessories, not electronic gadgets."
