Family location-tracking app Life360 has announced that it has reached 5m users. The company claims that this figure is larger than all mobile carriers family locator services combined.
Life360 has also revealed the results of a survey of its users, and says that the smartphone has become a “must-have” for the “modern mom”.
Over 52 per cent of the users surveyed say that they use their smartphone within five minutes of waking up, and 78 per cent say they use their device in the last 10-15 minutes before bed.
The survey also reports a trend for parents giving smartphones to children, in order to track their position and safety. 56 per cent say they give their child a smartphone for safety purposes, while 44 per cent say they check in with their familites one to five times per day. 57 per cent say that everyone over the age of 13 will have a smartphone within the next 18 months.
28.7 per cent say they wouldnt give up their smartphone even if they got paid – but this option was pipped by the 32.4 per cent who said theyd give up their smartphone in exchange for a day at a spa.
The company has released an infographic based on these and more stats from the survey. Click the image or here to see it.
