Augmented Reality – its a cool technology, with some stylish marketing examples, but its easy to wonder if it really has any uses beyond being a fancy gimmick.
Linknode has launched 3Dtry.it, built on its GIality platform, which enables users to preview 3D models in 360 degrees, without requiring printed markers.
The intended use case looks to be as a sort of print preview for 3D printers, but the applications could potentially be much wider.
“Ever-decreasing deadlines create a need for greater collaboration between designers, partners and clients,” said Linknode director Crispin Hoult. “3DTry.it is the first intuitive hands-free previewer app that supports real-time 3D model viewing and sharing.”
