London College Uses App to Attract Students

Software company hedghog lab has created an app for London College of Communication (LCC). The app is for prospective students, and aims to make interaction with them more poersnal and accessible.

The LLC app gives prospective studnets information about the student experience at the college, from maps to up-to-date news.

hedgehog lab co founder and partner Sarat Pediredla says the college was able to use the app to present data and information in a fun and digestible way. “Working with such a design led institution means that the app has to have a great user experience,” he says. “The app provides the college with the ability to tap into the recent growth in mobile. This isnt just a prospectus app, it holds so much more information about the college and what its like to be a student there. It delivers the “LCC Experience” to prospective students.”

Professor Sandra Kemp, LCC Head of College, says: “The app has been created to raise the public profile of the College. It has been designed in a way that makes user interaction with the College more personalised, social and accessible. The challenge was to capture the huge range of student activity at LCC and the visual approach to this sets it apart from other apps currently on the market. We hope this is just the start; we want to add more content to it in the future and extend it to other platforms.”

The app is free, and is Universal on iTunes – meaning that the same download is optimised for both iPad and iPhone screens. Click here to get it from the iTunes App Store.
