London Event Finder and Ticket App Launches for iOS

The YPlan app gives users access to tickets for specially selected events for that night and that night only – they are released 24 hours before the event, at the earliest.

The company says it seeks to add some spontaneity to busy Londoners’ lives and offers last-minute and sought after deals, while enabling the entertainment industry to recoup ‘many millions of pounds lost each year through under-sold events’.

The ticketing team is in constant touch with event promoters, producers and vendors. They don’t purchase, but negotiate an allocation of tickets for the app’s audience.

The events are curated every day by a former digital director of Timeout entertainment magazine – so whether it’s music, theatre and comedy – YPlan promises tonight’s best events in just two taps.

First time users have to add card details, Visa, Mastercard or Maestro. Each ticket comes with its own instructions on how to collect.

If you see a Y next to a  price, that means a specially negotiated deal, which can include access to a sold-out show or an invitation-only event, automatic upgrade, or something free with your booking. If you see a % sign, this means the ticket has a discount.

YPlan’s team boasts some of the brains behind Time Out, toptable, GetTaxi, Songkick, Airbnb and lastminute.com.

Co-founder of the mobile technology company, Rytis Vitkauskas, said: “There’s already a huge global trend in mobile commerce, with consumers purchasing everything from cabs to hotels straight from their smartphone. With YPlan, having an amazing night out is now just as easy. It’s the perfect app for the spontaneous.”

The company says that they think ‘it sucks to sneak in fees and charges just before you hit Pay. At YPlan, you pay what you see. Always.’
