Lyft teams up with Amtrak for easier completion of journeys

Lyft AmtrakLyft has entered into yet another partnership with another major US brand. This time, Uber’s ridesharing rival has teamed up with passenger railroad service Amtrak.

This partnership follows the recent deals Lyft has struck with Walt Disney World, where it has launched a ‘Minnie Van’ service at select resorts, and Taco Bell to help those late-night munchies.

As a result of the partnership, customers using the Amtrak mobile app can request a ride from Lyft directly within the app.

“We're looking forward to working with Amtrak. As a fixture of American travel, Amtrak makes it simple and convenient for passengers, something Lyft feels passionately about as well,” said David Baga, CBO for Lyft, “Both companies have a long-standing commitment to supporting communities we serve and we're excited to grow together.”

New Lyft users can receive $5 off each of their first four Lyft rides using the promo code AMTRAKLYFT.

Amtrak serves more than 500 destinations in 46 states and three Canadian provinces, while Lyft reaches 97 per cent of Amtrak riders in its coverage of 360 communities across the US.
