CTM – Cable & Wirelesss business in Macau – has introduced a simple data roaming package for subscribers.
The fixed-charge package allows consumers to use mobile data when travelling in China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and India. It is the first deal of its kind in Macau.
The package costs around £7.60 per location, per day, and allows customers to use as much data as they need on that day. Users must roam on CTMs partner network in the country in which they are roaming.
Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM says: “We have formed alliances with different roaming service operators overseas to enable our customers to stay connected and fully utilise their data services at an affordable rate wherever they go.”
CTM says it is responding to a rapid growth in smartphone take-up in Macau, which it says is driven largely by the launch of the iPhone 4 in November 2010. Most CTM subscribers now use upwards of 500MB of mobile data per month, according to the company.
