Magic Wanda Debuts

Realeyes3D, which provides mobile imaging applications for cameraphone users, has announced the launch of Magic Wanda, which it says is the first cameraphone messaging application that allows users to create and share their own unique animated photo messages directly on the handset in Adobe Flash Lite format, without requiring a server.
With Magic Wanda, users can quickly and easily generate creative, animated content on cameraphones for richer, entertaining and more emotional messaging with family and friends all over the world. Users can decorate any image or picture in their phone with their own personally-created animated handwritten text, drawings, or voice messages, and can also choose from a selection of pre-loaded content, such as animated frames, stamps, characters and music, to produce unique, animated musical card creations.
Bena Roberts, Chief Analyst at BKI Media, is enthusiastic about the applications potential. She says:
Magic Wanda is an imaginative way to create animated user-generated content for mobile messaging, and uptake is certain to spill over into global markets. The ability to decorate, animate and recreate images can be used as a tool by media companies or mobile operators to support communities and TV programs with prizes and competitions for the best-animated redesign of your favorite character.
Users begin by capturing a handwritten message, written with a regular pen on regular paper, using their cameraphone. The selected picture is then overlaid with the handwritten message using Magic Wanda and Realeyes3Ds patented ink extraction technology. Users can then choose from several animation options,  including bounce, rotate, scroll or stretch, to create flying hearts, bouncing balls or scrolling captions.
The resulting Adobe Flash Lite file can be saved on the phone or sent from the users handset to any Flash-enabled device or to a content-sharing website. Magic Wandas animated, multi-layer photo images can be created in less than a minute and are only limited by the users imagination.
Magic Wanda will initially debut in Japan, the most advanced market for Flash-enabled handsets. Picture decoration is a current obsession in Japan, especially with teenagers who use special photo booths called Purikura  to take pictures of themselves, decorate the pictures with special stamps, borders and images, and then exchange the embellished photos like trading cards.
Magic Wanda is already generating significant market interest in Japan, thanks to the long-lasting success of Purikura and the countrys high penetration of Flash-enabled camera phones, says Realeyes3D CEO, Benot Bergeret. And as popularity in the Japanese market is often a precursor to popularity in the Asian, European and US markets, Magic Wandas adoption is sure to spread internationally.
