Mamas & Papas Gives Birth to Mobile Site

UK nursery brand Mamas & Papas has selected mCommece provider One iota to develop its transactional mobile site. Incorporating location-based services, the site is the first step in the retailers multichannel strategy, which will see a Tablet-optimised site, iOS app and Facebook commerce channels introduced over the next few months.

“Technology continues to play a key part in our operations – currently twenty per cent of website visitors access our site via their mobile, and we expect this trend to at least double in the next 12 months,” says Rob Jennings, eCommerce director at Mamas & Papas. “Its particularly relevant to our industry, in which busy parents increasingly want their digital experience on the go, through devices that fit around their lifestyle.”

Mamas & Papas wider digital strategy includes plans to introduce wi-fi to stores, and using QR codes as a link to richer consumer information.
