Microsoft has appointed Mandeep Mason as director of mobile advertising sales EMEA in its advertising and online division.
Mason, who joins the company from a position as sales director at Nokia, will be responsible for developing Microsoft’s mobile advertising proposition. Mason will oversee the entire Microsoft mobile advertising offer including MSN Mobile, Windows Messenger and Windows Phone Network, as well as ads in apps and the integration of Skype mobile advertising.
“The depth and breadth of expertise in mobile advertising that Mandeep brings will be a key asset for our strategic expansion in the EMEA region,” says Laurent Delaporte, VP Microsoft Advertising, EMEA. “He has invaluable experience in developing ad network partnerships with some of world’s largest content publishers and media owners, helping them to expand their use of mobile technologies to develop new revenue models.”
Mason has seven years’ experience delivering mobile advertising strategies for media agencies and consumer brands and, at Nokia, was part of the team that launched Nokia’s mobile advertising network business five years ago.
