Mars and EE among launch advertisers for Snapchat Commercials

Mars and EE have been unveiled as two of the debut advertising partners for announced as the debut line-up of advertising partners for Snapchat Commercials, which run across Snapchat Shows in the UK.

Commercials are available through Snap’s self-serve platform. They are non-skippable video Snap Ads, and run only where Snap Ads typically run in Shows, so not pre-roll. They are up to six seconds in duration.

Snap introduced Shows in the UK in October 2018 with the aim of creating a new form of premium, TV-like content, produced exclusively for mobile by leading TV networks and entertainment studios. They are typically 3-5 minutes in length, full screen and immersive, featuring motion graphics, split screens, quick cuts and more.

“We know from other digital platforms that unskippable video drives results for us, so when Snapchat announced their new ‘Commercials’ offering we were keen to test it to expand our understanding of what drives effectiveness on Snapchat,” said Chantal Barcelona, media manager at Mars. “By aligning full screen vertical video with premium mobile content, we believe there is huge value for our brands at landing our core message and ultimately shifting key business results.”
