Cotney: “4INFO’s SMS customers will gain access to state-of-the-art services and products from a company whose sole focus is mobile messaging”

Independent application-to-person (A2P) SMS provider Mblox has acquired 4INFO’s SMS business line. Through this purchase, 4INFO’s SMS customers will now be serviced by Mblox’s global delivery capability. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mblox connects its clients to over 1,000 operators around the world. Customers new to Mblox will have expanded options outside the US and access to new services in the US, including Mblox’s StarStar Service. The companies said the transaction allows both Mblox and 4INFO to advance their agendas in their respective core businesses.

“Through this agreement, 4INFO’s SMS customers will gain access to state-of-the-art services and products from a company whose sole focus is mobile messaging,” said Mblox CEO, Tom Cotney. “We are excited to add such a high quality client portfolio to our business and look forward to expanding new relationships.”

While 4INFO started out in the SMS business, its main activities today centre around solving the challenge of mobile attribution for national brand advertisers. The Company’s AdHaven Bullseye platform uses household purchase data to provide its customers with precision targeting.

“While our company first planted its roots in SMS, we’ve since grown and redefined our core business areas,” said 4INFO CEO, Tim Jenkins. “It’s time for us to focus on mobile display, cross-screen and video advertising, yet we wanted to be sure our SMS customers would continue getting outstanding support. We believe Mblox will do a fantastic job taking care of them.”
