mBlox Reports 30% A2P Messaging Growth

Mobile transaction network mBlox has revealed that it successfully delivered over 2.5 billion application-to-person transactions in 2008, a growth of 30% year-on-year. mBlox cleared and settled for its customers, premium transactions with a retail value of approximately $500 million (350 million), which it says is a strong result, given significant devaluation in major European currencies. mBlox says it accomplished key financial goals in 2008 despite the economic climate, clearly demonstrating the continued vitality of the market for mobile messaging-based services.
mBlox exceeded a number of its key performance indicators (KPIs), including mobile-originated and terminated messages (MT). MT messaging growth accelerated in the second half of the year, and in December 2008 the total volume of MT messages was up 40% compared to December 2007. Enterprise mobile messaging was responsible for a significant proportion of overall MT growth, as new and innovative uses were deployed.
mBlox has also announced the opening of a new office in Italy, spearheaded by Edouard Marciano, to further Italian market growth and help further drive mBlox business growth in 2009. The move follows the expansion of mBloxs Sunnyvale HQ its Global Network Operation Centre in Singapore during 2008.
In 2008, mBlox averaged 79 mobile transactions every second across the globe, says mBlox Executive Chairman,  Andrew Bud. This represents enormous growth and success, despite the current economic turbulence. The growth in transactions in 2008 reflects the continued vitality in the market for mobile content. mBlox has established itself as the worlds leading transaction network and we have many opportunities before us, both in developing the global digital economy and in leading industry consolidation.
