Mobile Marketing company Enpocket has taken the award for Best Mobile Marketing Provider at the September 2006 ME Awards, hosted by Mobile Entertainment magazine, while mBlox took the award for Best Payment/Billing Provider.
This award is a welcome confirmation of our efforts, dating back to 2001, to make the mobile channel an effective medium for marketers says Enpocket CEO Mike Baker. As the mobile advertising market rapidly expands around the world, we will continue to strive to provide best-in-class technology and services to our customers.
For mBlox, Executive Chairman Andrew Bud says the award is recognition for the quality delivered by the companys business model, and for the dedication of its people.
Our total focus on mobile transactions means that we can support all players in the mobile content value chain, bringing consumers the benefits of new billing models and powering growth in the mobile content industry says Bud.
In 2005 mBlox processed over 1 billion mobile transactions valued at $400 million. This year has seen the company take a significant step forward in increasing rich media consumption on mobile with the launch of wholesale data services, developed in conjunction with Vodafone.
This new off-portal charging model enables music labels and artists to sell music to and communicate directly with the consumer or through a mobile retailer rather than through an operators WAP portal. Wholesale data, says mBlox not only makes mobile downloads viable by significantly reducing costs, but also creates a whole new way for content providers to sell to their customers.
