me2me, a wholly owned Swisscom venture, has built on its voice-enabled me2me personal messaging and web service, to develop a new tool that it says, promises to dramatically improve the mobile voicemail experience and increase revenue and subscriber loyalty for operators. me2me will also officially launch the company and its me2me service in the US at the CTIA Wireless 2009 event in Las Vegas from 1 3 April.
me2mes new service helps subscribers better manage their voicemails by adding useful information about the message content, and making voicemail more searchable. The service prompts callers to specify keywords to tag their voice message and to give the recipient an indication of its subject. These message tags are then delivered to the recipient by SMS, together with a message envelope, detailing the time and date of the message and the caller details. Users are able to view this information on their handset without having to listen to the message, or they can call the voicemail service and immediately jump to the most important message. This development effectively moves voicemail beyond the simple visual selection and playback of voicemail available elsewhere, and adds instant value for consumer and enterprise subscribers. This works with every mobile handset in the market and can enhance Visual Voicemail.
me2mes voicemail solution is offered as a managed service to mobile operators worldwide, which it says makes the service affordable and speedy to implement, while promising to bring additional revenue to operators by offering a valuable service to subscribers. me2me will demonstrate the service at CTIA Wireless, April 1-3 2009.
Weve launched this voicemail addition to our me2me service in response to consumer demand for greater and more efficient searchability of voicemail content, says me2me CEO Peter Hauser. The current voicemail services can be cumbersome and time consuming to access and manage, but me2mes service is set to change all that. Combined with me2mes wider personal messaging solution, this service will significantly improve the access and management of voicemail content for subscribers, and will generate new income for mobile and fixed line operators. With the launch of me2me AG in the US market, this effectively extends and multiplies the potential subscriber base into the millions.
The announcement follows the launch in Europe during February of me2me AGs flagship service, me2me, which delivers converged, voice-enabled personal messaging and web services to the mass consumer market. The service is designed to help users organise their lives by verbally storing daily life information – those bits of important information that are always needed but often forgotten – and tagging each piece of information with personal terms to make it searchable later on the mobile device or a PC web interface. This service is currently in beta testing and operator trials in Europe and the US, and will be launched to the public in the Autumn.
