The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) has announced its first MEF CEO Summit. The Summit will see over 60 leaders from the $36bn (£24bn) mobile entertainment industry converge on central London on 21 June, to discuss the opportunities brought about by rising adoption of smartphones and mobile connected devices driving mobile entertainment consumption.
Speakers include Vodafone founder, Professor Mike Walker; Symbian co-founder David Wood; and Andrés Pieczanski, international managing director, technology investment banking, at Jeffries. They will be presenting on consolidation, growth, exits, mergers and acquisitions in the mobile space; the importance of the mobile device to the future of media delivery; and the future role of the network operator.
“MEF was founded in 2000 to support the then nascent mobile entertainment industry. A decade later, mobile entertainment has matured into a $36bn industry with increasing levels of M&A activity as major technology groups seek to participate in this growth,” says MEF chairman Andrew Bud. “The inaugural MEF CEO Summit will provide our senior members with a private setting in which to network with fellow industry leaders and discuss the key issues relating to growth.”
The Summit takes place before the MEF’s Meffys awards dinner, with the MEF’s annual MEM conference held over the next two days at the the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel in London.
