Mercury Shortlisted for Mobile Innovation Award

3ple-Medias Mercury mobile multimedia solution has been selected as one of two best of breed finalists competing for a chance to win the  GSM Asia Mobile Innovation Award for the Most Innovative Carrier Infrastructure or Platform. 3ple-Media was selected as a finalist from a shortlist of 50 Top Innovators identified by the GSM Association (GSMA). Winners will be announced on 13 November at the Mobile Asia Congress event in Macau, following a final presentation at the Mobile Innovation Summit that will give judges an opportunity to assess each finalist on several key criteria, including cost efficiency, market potential, ease of integration, and innovation/original functionality. The GSMA is the global trade association for more than 700 mobile operators across 218 countries.
3ple-Media says its Mercury platform heralds a disruptive new approach that puts mobile operators at the heart of the rapidly evolving multimedia ecosystem and value chain. Mercurys combination of technological and commercial innovation unlocks the immediate value of the multimedia opportunity for operators, and paves the way for future ready services, the company says.
Costi Manda, Managing Director and CTO of 3ple-Media says the Mobile Innovation Program is instrumental in casting the spotlight on disruptive new technology and commercial models that facilitate operators in a changing multimedia landscape.
Were delighted to have been recognized by the GSMA as a finalist in the Asia Mobile Innovation Awards, says Manda. The awareness this forum brings will help us show mobile operators and our industry that there are exciting and highly profitable opportunities open to them in the mobile multimedia environment if they have the right end-to-end infrastructure. Mercury offers the entire suite of technologies needed for multimedia; organically integrated, truly linearly scalable and with the right commercial model to make the mobile multimedia business viable.”
Mercury consists of three layers: business enabling applications; service support; and a core multimedia engine. Highly configurable, modular and scalable, Mercury offers cost effective, precision-targeted, mass-personalized and value-added results for multimedia distribution, and a vast array of interactive mobile multimedia content services, according to 3ple-Media. It is designed to enable rapid deployment of new services, dramatically increasing both mobile multimedia ARPU and the number of active mobile multimedia subscribers on an operators network.
We are thrilled with the quality of innovations submitted to the Asia Mobile Innovation Awards,” says Bill Gajda, Chief Commercial Officer of the GSMA. The eight finalists, which hail from seven different countries, are truly best of breed. The Mobile Innovation Programme aspires to create a global environment for getting business done, by discovering and showcasing exceptional products and companies to top executives from operators, VCs and equipment vendors.”
