Merge Games closes Chelford office amid consolidation

Merge Games has revealed the closure of its Chelford office, with layoffs impacting an unspecified number of employees.

Maximum Entertainment CEO Christina Seelye explained to GamesIndustry.biz that this move is part of a broader consolidation plan initiated earlier this year.

The strategy includes merging the remaining portfolio of Merge Games into Maximum Entertainment, the company stated.

Seelye said: “Within the context of previously announced reductions, we made the difficult but necessary decision to take further cost-cutting measures, and these unfortunately include staff redundancies.

“As a recently integrated company with a full and competitive roadmap ahead of us, we must finish the year and enter 2025 stronger and leaner to continue our best work.”
