The augmented reality platform Metaio now has 50,000 developers working on some 1,000 different applications across enterprise, publishing and retail. To celebrate the milestone, it has created an AR standard logo which it hopes will be adopted to indicate the availability of interactive features to consumers.
The company has also announced that it will be running its first ever AR development competition, with participants able to use the updated Metaio SDK and Creator tools. Prize winners will receive professional software licenses and be flown to Munich to present their winning entries at InsideAR 2013.
