Augmented-reality specialist Metaio has released an updated version of its junaio AR browser. The update which takes junaio to version 3.0, includes a Scan function that scans pictures, QR codes and product barcodes.
Users can scan items and, if information is contained in one of junaios channels, databases or connected partner platforms, it will be served to the handset.
“junaio 3.0 takes us further towards our vision of making the Augmented World around us come alive in every sense,” says metaio CTO, Peter Meier. “We are using the objects around us as markers to get virtual information. Just point the camera and scan it. This could be a famous painting in a museum showing how the artist created his masterpiece, or a simple box of breakfast cereals starting an entertaining AR game for our children.”
