Metro, the UK’s third largest newspaper, has launched a free iPhone/iPad app, sponsored by Three.
Designed to combine a digital and print experience in one place, the app offers a 24/7 rolling news service, employing scrolling technology, to enable users to flick through the pages of the paper on their Apple device.
Users can also search archived editions and articles and to download single pages, or whole editions to read offline. Once downloaded, the app automatically updates across the users iPhone and/or iPad.
Metro worked with digital design agency Fjord and mobile agencies YOC and Page Suite to create the app for its readers. Three is sponsoring the app to support the launch of all-you-can-eat data on The One Plan.
The Metro app is available as a free download from the App Store.
