Microsoft has teamed up with German multinational software firm SAP to provide enterprise customers with the opportunity to use the pair’s joint cloud capabilities.
The partnership will see the companies co-engineer, sell, and provide support for cloud services. Meanwhile, the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud on Microsoft Azure will enable customers to run SAP S/4HANA within a managed cloud. In addition, Microsoft will use SAP S/4HANA on Azure to help run its own internal finance processes, and SAP will move its key internal business critical systems to Azure.
“As technology transforms every business and every industry, organizations are looking for the right platforms and trusted partners to help accelerate their digital transformation,” said Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. “Building on our long-time partnership, Microsoft and SAP are harnessing each other’s products to not only power our own organizations, but to empower our enterprise customers to run their most mission-critical applications and workloads with SAP S/4HANA on Azure.”
Joint customers between the pair already include The Coca-Cola Company, Columbia Sportswear Company, Coats, and Costco Wholesale Corp.
