Microsoft has confirmed rumours of Windows Phone 8s launch date by announcing a press event in San Francisco, on 29 October. Officially speaking, at least – the OS wont actually be available to the public on that date.
The first Windows Phone 8 handsets are expected to launch at the beginning of November. Combined with the fact that no members of the press have actually interacted with WP8 yet, beyond using the homescreen, rumours have begun to surface that the OS is behind schedule. All of which, we presume, will become clear at the end of October.
Microsoft has also announced the launch date of Windows 8, its PC and tablet OS – at an event three days earlier, on 26 October.
