Microsoft to launch game sales in Xbox app on Android

Microsoft is advancing its push into mobile gaming by planning to offer game sales through its Xbox App on Android later this year.

This announcement came from Xbox president Sarah Bond via a social media post, where she mentioned that players will soon be able to purchase and play games directly through the app.

While specific titles weren’t disclosed, Bond confirmed that the feature will begin rolling out “starting in November.”

It’s still unclear if this move is connected to Microsoft’s broader goal of launching its own mobile app store.

Initially scheduled for release this summer, that store was expected to feature first-party games like Candy Crush and Minecraft.
