MIG and O2 Team up for Wireless Festival

Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) is teaming up with network operator O2 to provide multimedia mobile interactive services at the 2007 O2 Wireless Festival, which is taking place simultaneously at Hyde Park, London from 14 -17 June and at Harewood House in Leeds from 15 17 June.
An extensive range of mobile interactive services are available this year to avid festival goers including:
VIP Barcoding To gain access to the exclusive O2 blueroom, O2 customers are invited to text LONDON or LEEDS to the shortcode 60202. In response, they will receive a message that contains a 2D barcode ticket. Each barcode is unique and is scanned to gain entry.
An additional feature to this years VIP barcoding is a prize draw – Each guest, on gaining entry to the blueroom, will be notified as to whether theyve won a prize immediately. Prizes include a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone, Viewing Bus Tickets, Hospitality upgrade and many more. Prizes will be up for grabs daily.
GRIDIO An interactive music-video installation designed to offer music maestros attending the festival the opportunity to create their own video clip. Pressure sensors on the grid detect peoples movements, which in turn trigger multiple simultaneous audio-visual clips on a large plasma screen for all to see. The finished masterpiece is then downloaded onto the users handset.
Backstage Reporter Throughout the day, SMS and MMS messages containing news and gossip are sent to all opt-in O2 customers live and direct from MIGs backstage reporter.
O2 Active Info Site A host of content will be available to festival goers via O2 Active, including travel news, schedules, what to do after the gigs and event videos.
Bluetooth Stations – O2 is keen to promote User Generated Content (UGC) during the festival, therefore attendees are encouraged to upload photos and videos at Bluetooth Stations that are sited throughout both venues. Content captured will be shown on strategically-placed giant screens at the festival. Content will also be posted on O2s Blogging site and on O2 Active.
Mobile SMS Survey To capture the thoughts of festival-goers and their experience at the festival, a selection of O2 customers will be invited to participate in an SMS Survey which will be managed by MIG.
Following MIGs involvement at the O2 Wireless Festival 2006, were delighted to team up again this year to showcase the extensive range of interactive and event-based services in the mobile space today says MIG Business Development Director, Anthony Nelson.
