MIG Launches SMS-based Call TV platform

Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) has announced the launch of Instantwinner, a high-speed, intelligently-automated SMS technology platform developed specifically for optimising the performance of Call TV quiz shows.
Instantwinner combines sophisticated CRM tools with MIGs high-speed, high-capacity SMS delivery technology to provide broadcasters with an intelligent platform that can be used to streamline an entire Call TV operation. ITV recently announced that the last years turnover for ITV Play was
27 million, illustrating the huge popularity of the Call TV sector.
The Instantwinner platform enables broadcasters to track exactly where a player is in the game, whether its their first attempt at winning or their tenth. The CRM engine delivers tailored messages specific to a players position in the game, says MIG, creating a more human-like experience, while stimulating repeat plays.
Viewers that use a mobile phone as their primary form of communication are often reluctant to call IVR numbers due to the expensive call costs and high interconnect fees levied by operators. Because Instantwinner delivers reply messages in a fraction of the time of other platforms, players can rely on SMS as an equally effective channel as IVR for entering Call TV quizzes.
Instantwinner has been developed specifically with SMS players in mind, ensuring that the SMS experience is fast and reliable, regardless of the number of people playing at any one time. It uses SMS as the central mechanic driving the user experience, increasing repeat plays, and enabling producers to maximise the cross selling opportunities across other digital platforms.
Additionally, says MIG, Instantwinner will enable call TV operators to build loyalty and reward schemes by providing an intelligent way of identifying multiple players and rewarding them via free plays and other CRM-based schemes.
The Call TV space has predominately been about IVR because until now nobody has taken SMS seriously, and as a result the user experience has been limited primarily to IVR says MIG Managing Director, Barry Houlihan. Weve built Instantwinner around SMS, primarily because the popularity of text messaging continues to grow month on month so its a no-brainer.  Also, SMS is the perfect tool for CRM, enabling broadcasters to create dynamic relationships and cross-selling opportunities with players which you dont get with IVR. Any production company, broadcaster or service provider can integrate Instantwinner easily into their existing production interface. We have already seen significant interest from several major players in this sector.
