Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) is gearing up for the new series of The X Factor, with an upgrade to the network connections and capacity of its award-winning SMS voting platform Votewinner. The enhancements will enable MIG to deliver votes at speeds of 2,000 messages per second when voting begins in October.
Last year, Votewinner smashed the high-speed SMS record in the UK, when it recorded throughput speeds of 1,300 messages per second on Vodafone during the shows finale. Since its launch last year, Votewinner has handled some of the largest interactive TV events, including Live8, The X Factor and The Princes Trust 30th Anniversary concert. Votewinner also broke a Guinness World Record for Live8, and picked up an award for Best SMS Platform in the Global Messaging Awards 2006.
Last years finale of The X Factor was the biggest interactive voting event in history, and Votewinner scaled up to handle the highest throughput ever at 1,300 messages per second says MIG Managing Director Barry Houlihan. Weve seriously upgraded Votewinner this year, and continue to enhance all of our technology, ensuring that we not only meet the demands and high expectations of our clients, but exceed them.
