Millennial Media Reports Strong iOS Ad Figures

The launch of the iPhone on Verizon in the US has had a significant impact on mobile ad traffic, according to the latest Mobile Mix report from Millennial Media

The mobile ad networks monthly report on ad performance across mobile devices and operating systems says that ad impressions on the iPhone grew 17 per cent month-on-month, while impressions over iOS grew 11 per cent. Verizon iPhones accounted for 8.2 per cent of impressions in March. 

The iPhone is the top-performing phone for ad impressions, with a 19.2 per cent share of the market, while the BlackBerry Curve had a strong month in second place, with 5.3 per cent. The BlackBerry Torch also grew 23 per cent, while the RIM OS experienced 23 per cent growth month-on-month. 

In terms of app revenues by operating systems, Apples iOS dominates with a 47 per cent share, with Android in second place with a 36 per cent share. Connected mobile devices that arent mobile phones, such as the iPad, iPod touch, and Samsung Galaxy tablet increased by 21 per cent month-on-month, and now make up a 17 per cent share of Millennial Medias ad impressions.
