Ministry of Sound Launches Ticket-buying App

Ministry of Sound has become the first major music brand in the world to enable music lovers to buy club tickets and have them delivered to their mobile via an app, in partnership with Trinity Mobile.

Downloadable for free over the air and online via iTunes and Zune Marketplace, the iPhone and Windows Phone 7 apps will enable music lovers across the world to keep up to date with the latest club and tour dates, radio shows and album releases at the touch of a button – all at a time and location that is convenient to them and all available to share on Facebook, Twitter and email.

The iPhone App has been created with global mobile and digital communications agency Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) and the Windows Phone 7 App with Bitmix. Both versions of the app are fully integrated with Ministry of Sound’s live feeds and social networks, and with Trinity Mobile who provide the mobile ticketing technology.

In addition to ticket purchases, the app also has a Radio feature, with 45 shows each week, each individually tailored to a wide range of genres. Users can listen to the tracks being played, and buy any they like the sound of. Users can also browse and buy albums, compilations and singles from the Ministry of Sound Recordings collection.

“To deliver our digital and mobile strategy, it’s essential to use the right technology partners and to work collaboratively with the best minds in the market,” says Ministry of Sound mobile marketing manager, Tom Bulwer. “Working with MIG and Bitmix gave us the flexibility we needed to create and develop truly innovative apps.”
