Mippin Optimises for iPhone and Android

Mobile content discovery service Mippin
has announced its first major upgrade to the service for 2009, which
sees its mobile offering optimised for the iPhone and Android devices.
Mippin
is a browser-based, mobile-optimised service delivering a huge range of
content sourced from across the web to a mobile site that is
individually personalized using Mobile 2.0 features to drive discovery
of new and favourite content for each user. Mippin says the iPhone and
Android upgrade is the next step in its commitment to provide the best
experience for each phone ,and in turn further enhance content
discovery.
When accessing Mippin on either an iPhone or Android
device, users will find latest news stories incorporated into a front
page carousel, providing an easy way to get to the news and information
that matters most to them. The carousel then gives way to the many
Mippin features that now integrate directly with the iPhone/Android
touchscreen interfaces to enable better navigation and access to
personalised content.
The iPhone and the G1 are among the top
five devices people are using to access Mippin, and we have noted that
people accessing Mippin on these devices have a longer dwell time, and
are less likely to churn, says Mippin Director of Product Management,
Jonathon Moore. This is why we wanted to optimise the site for these
users.
Mippin has also extended the overall range of content in
its service to over 35 million stories, 50,000 sites, and 80
mobile-optimised content channels.
