Miyowa Brings IM to 3 Hong Kong

Instant Messaging (IM) company Miyowa has launched the i-mode version of its universal mobile IM technology with 3 Hong Kong.  3s i-mode customers in Hong Kong can now use Windows Live Messenger, on their mobile phones. Miyowa is providing 3 Hong Kong with a turnkey solution, including the Windows Live Messenger certified application, billing connectivity, and the design and build of the interface, where end-users can download the messenger.
Working side by side with major IM communities, Miyowas MoveMessenger  universal technology seamlessly extends the familiar Instant Messengers to the mobile environment, helping operators to by-pass the need to create communities from scratch.
MoveMessenger is a Java J2ME Instant Messenger client, compatible with existing standards, including Jabber and Wireless Village. Based on patented Miyowa technology, the 60kb MoveMessenger client is compatible with more than 300 handsets, and, says Miyowa, can be deployed to a mobile carrier in just seven weeks.
It offers intuitive navigation in the contextual menus of the application; sending and receiving of messages with emoticons; management of conversations in dedicated thumbnails (one per conversation), allowing the user to navigate easily between the simultaneous conversations and contact list; the possibility of creating groups of contacts; and quick access to preset messages.
Miyowa has a proven track record in delivering superb universal mobile instant messaging solutions in Asia says Amy Lung, Chief Operating Officer Mobile, at  Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong. Leveraging the strong and reliable local support of Miyowa, we have achieved a fast and robust roll-out of Windows Live Messenger service for our i-mode customers.”
