The total value of the global mobile marketing and advertising market will grow to €17.2bn (£14.3bn) in 2016, according to research from Berg Insight, accounting for 15.2 per cent of the total online advertising market globally, and 3.8 per cent of the ad spend for all media.
Compared to a total of €2.6bn in 2010, this would represent a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 37 per cent.
“The popularity of smartphones and the increasing availability of mobile media that can include mobile advertising are the main game changers”, says Rickard Andersson, telecom analyst at Berg Insight. “Brands are now progressively embracing the mobile channel, including the entire range of apps, from games and entertainment to utility applications.”
