Mobile Advertising M&As to Reach $13.6bn in 2013

A report by Moorland Partners projects that acquisitions and investment in mobile advertising firms globally will reach $13.6bn (£8.46) by the end of this year.

In the first three quarters of 2013, there were 21 merger and acquisition transactions made – including the likes of MoPub being bought by Twitter and Millennial Media acquiring Jumptap – as well as 50 investments in the mobile advertising market.

Mooreland expects a large number of transactions in the fourth quarter, with 80 likely to close by the end of the year. The valuation of mobile advertising companies has stabilised at around three to five times revenue.

Mooreland, an M&A advisory firm, says that areas driving the market next year will include performance-driven companies, analytics firms and RTB platforms, along with media optimisation and app discovery solutions.
