Mobile Boarding Lands on easyJet App

easyJet is trialling mobile boarding passes through its iOS and Android apps in six airports.

Passengers travelling from London Stansted, London Southend, Manchester, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Nice can check in for their flight, and download the boarding pass on their phone. On iOS devices, passes can be stored using the Passbook functionality.

“We are really pleased to be trialling mobile boarding passes –we know from passenger feedback that it will be a popular addition to our award-winning app,” said easyJet marketing director Peter Duffy. “Following a successful trial, we will be working with each of the airports in order to roll out the function across the network. The trial will also be extended to include multiple boarding passes on the same device so that families can all check in using one or a number of mobiles, depending on their preference.”

According to easyJet, the trial will be extended to the mobile web later this year, to extend the functionality to Windows Phone and BlackBerry users.
