Portio Research has released its report, Strategies for Driving Mobile Data and Broadband Adoption.
The report analyses how mobile network operators are delivering great mobile data services to mobile consumers around the world. It outlines the strategies operators are using to create best-of-breed services in messaging, mobile broadband and mobile applications. It also analyses the potential for mobile data revenues, through forecasts, case studies and an investigation of operators’ go-to-market strategies. Core data sets include mobile broadband and mobile applications market sizing and forecasts to 2014, based on users and revenues.
The report notes that as voice has become a commodity product, so now the cash-cow that is SMS looks threatened with a future of rising demand against flattening revenues. Advanced data services, including mobile broadband, offer many operators their last great high-margin opportunity, says Portio. Mobile broadband is particularly exciting. Until recently it was regarded as a luxury for subscribers in advanced mobile markets, but it is now present in almost every wireless market worldwide.
