Mobile Marketing Launches the Mobile Retail Summit

Dot Media, the publisher of Mobile Marketing and Mobile Retail magazines, has announced plans for the Mobile Retail Summit, a major one-day conference looking at all aspects of mobile in the retail channel.
The event will be held in January 2012 in London, and will feature speakers from the mobile marketing industry, as well as retailers who have already deployed mobile solutions, sharing their experiences.
The event will be free for retailers to attend, but open to all, on payment of a modest delegate fee. The event has the backing of the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG). IMRG members who are not from the retail community can take advantage of a 10 per cent discount to attend, sponsor or exhibit.
Alongside the conference, there will be an exposition, featuring around 25 mobile marketing solutions providers, plus more intimate mobile marketing surgeries. The conference programme is currently being prepared, and Dot Media is today issuing a call for papers from companies and individuals who feel they can contribute to the event. The company is particularly keen to hear from retailers who have experience of going mobile that they can share with delegates.
Dot Media commercial director John Owen says: “We know that mobile retail is going to be big; all the estimates suggest that mCommerce will dwarf eCommerce in time, and we saw from the reaction to our recent Mobile Retail Masterclass event, held in partnership with Camerjam, that there is a real thirst for knowledge about mobile among retailers. This event aims to quench that thirst, with a thought-provoking conference programme, exposition, one-on-one surgeries where retailers can get answers to their specific questions, and of course, great networking opportunities.”
IMRG managing director David J Smith says the summit will help retailers to formulate and fine-tune their mobile strategy. He says: “Like the Mobile Retail Masterclass, this is another highly-focused event, bringing together solutions providers and thought leaders with a good mobile story to tell, and retailers who need to hear as many of these stories as possible to see which solutions, and which companies, are the best fit for them. We are happy to give the Mobile Retail Summit our endorsement.”
