Welcome to our weekly preview of Mobile Marketing Live, our new 2-day conference, exhibition and networking event, focusing on one of the sectors represented at the event.
This week, its the turn of Publishing. Along with representatives of companies including The Weather Channel, Financial Times, and Business Wire on the delegate side, weve got a whole host of speakers already lined up.
On Day 1, Mark Challinor, head of mobile at Telegraph Media Group, will talk us through the newspapers approach to commercialising the mobile space, with a particular eye on the development of its commercial model for iPad. Telegraph Media Group has been testing the waters in various areas of mobile for a while, from its portfolio of Android and iOS apps to a commercial AR partnership with Aurasma.
Also speaking on Day 1 is Steve Wing, head of mobile at Guardian News and Media, with a presentation on staying relevant in a multi-screen world. The Guardian ran its first AR print ad this year, and back in January announced its iPad edition had been downloaded half a million times. Wing will explain how the Guardian mobile proposition is evolving to reflect to a change in consumer behaviour.
Day 2, meanwhile, will feature a talk from Auto Trader mobile director Nick Gee, talking about how what the publication has done in the mobile channel – including winning an Effective Mobile Marketing Award in 2011 for its b2b app – and where it might be headed next.
Mobile Marketing Live is taking place at the Business Design Centre in London from 1-2 October 2012. For companies booking before the end of July, there are a limited number of early bird tickets available – meaning a one-day conference pass (usually £295) costs £195, and a two-day conference pass (usually £395) costs £295.
